I’m looking for a Black kitten somewhere near Lake County, Illinois?

Allana A asked:

I’ve been wanting a kitten for a while now. I started out, and I wanted a Devon Rex kitten. I didn’t like how it looked, however, after it got older. I’ve now settled on either a Munchkin Cat or, one I’d really like, a Black Cat.

I’ve also looked apon Bengal cats.

Has to be able to get along with our one puppy. and there are 3 other people in my family.

I’d prefer a pretty young kitten.

Any help ?

What do cats do in order to show affection to humans? In other words what is equal to a kiss in cat world?

AN asked:

Do they understand when you pick them up and kiss them that you are being affectionate or what do they think? Is it possible to teach cats to peck (kiss) you on the mouth? Has anyone done this?

Do cats recognize their siblings after a period of separation?

lele asked:

My cat, Izzy (a female), is a stray who came to our garage when she was just 6 weeks old. Immediately Ozzie (a male), another stray we’d taken in about 6 months earlier, took a liking to Izzy. He protected her from our other cats and is still very close to her. They play constantly, and seem to be inseparable. One of our theories is that they are siblings, and Ozzie recognized this and that’s why he protected her and took such a liking to her. Could this be true?

Would Cinderstorm make a good name for a cat?

Flower that Blooms during Storm asked:

Yesterday I brought home an 8 month old female cat(I’m not sure of her breed) and she is just so playful and adorable! She is a sorta bluish-gray color with gray eyes. I thought of Cinder because of her color and storm because of her eyes. I’m trying to think of something “unique” but not too strange. How does it sound?
Aww, thanks!

§cary Fan Girl (MORE COWBELL)™ asked:

I don’t know what kind of breed she is. She is 9 years old, indoor cat, eats purina cat food, not fat or skinny. Likes me only and shy also likes to smell everyone before they can pet her. sorry about all the information, I want this to be as good as I can get it.

P.s. Her fur is black and white

Can anyone tell me what they symptoms of feline kidney infection are?

John L asked:

I was just petting my cat, and he reacted when I touched the area by his kidney. He didn’t scream or meow. He pees normally, no blood. Eats and drinks fine. Any ideas? BTW, He’s almost 20.
He kinda reacted quickly and started licking that area.
Thank you. He had a urinalysis done last month. It was clean.

Kittens born! Who wants to give them milk names?

Jewel asked:

My husband and I rescued a cat off the streets on a wet and cold night in mid-March, discovered a couple of weeks later that she was pregnant. She had the babies yesterday, and we want to give them “milk names” (names given to kittens until they have a new home or their personalities show better).

I like unique names, but need non-gender-specific (not old enough to tell yet). The mother is a black, white, and red tabby cat named Camoflauge (Cami for short), and I also have a Bengal cat named Sybil (a rescue purebred).

So, there are four of them.

Kitten 1: Black with grey tabby on the front legs, and a patch of brown near the right eye.
Kitten 2: Black and white; pure white belly and legs, with black on the back in splotches, and some on the face.
Kitten 3: Pure red tabby. This one seems to be the smallest.
Kitten 4: All black, except a little patch of brown or red tabby on the forehead. This one is the biggest.

Ideas?
I don’t mean “milk names” as in names synonymous with milk. As I said above, milk names are names given to kittens soon after they are born, so that they have a name (and aren’t called “that red tabby”; “the black and white spotted,” “the run,” etc) until a) their personalities show better, and a better name that fits them can be decided, or b) they go to a new home and the new family can name them.

In our case, these are the names they will go by for the first 10 weeks of their life, and then they will be fixed and given their first shots before going to a (hopefully) forever home.

How to tell how big cat will be?

animal_mother asked:

Is there any way to tell how much more growing my kitten will do? With dogs you can guesstimate by breed and size of paws, etc. He is about 6 months old and weighs 8 pounds. His paws still look pretty meaty though, like he’s gonna be a big cat. 8 pounds on him doesn’t look overweight at all .
