I am moving in with my sister while my husband is in Iraq. Her cat has been recently diagnosed with feline lukemia and I was wondering if my dog could get sick from her cat.

How do I improve my cats eating habits?

winky asked:

I have two cats, a male and female (both about 2 years old). The male cat eats very well and very active while the female cat eats less and her body weight lighter than him. Is this normal ie for a male cat to be much heavier than the female cat? If not then how do I make my female cat to improve her appettite and increase her body weight?

Does anyone know where I can look to find feline cardiologists in the state of IL?

kristen6105 asked:

My cat has been diagnosed by my local vet with HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy). He is a hybrid cat, an F4A Savannah. I would like to take him to a cardiologist, hopefully one that was familiar with the breed, to confirm (or un-confirm) the diagnosis. I’ve tried looking online, but haven’t found much.
I live in north central IL and would like to find a good one as close as possible to keep the stress down for my cat.
I have heard that the university of IL was very good, and I may go that route if I can’t find a cardiologist closer to home.

Our vet told us that diet treatment is the best and only method to treat feline kidney disease. Is this true?

Alella asked:

She just told us to keep feeding our cat Hill’s KD food, and that there was really no other option that would treat the condition just as well. Is this true?

Why do cats stretch out their hind leg when they approach me?

Michael W asked:

There are several cats in our household. I’ve just recently noticed that several of our cats stretch one of their hind legs (primarily the left leg) out behind them when they approach a human and sometimes other cats. Is this some form of greeting? Submission? I can’t find anything about this when I search online.

Do white bengal tigers have a greater urge to kill?

Nikki asked:

I watched Cat Dancers and they got a white tiger. But Joy and Chuck didn’t want one because they are inbred. Jupiter killed Chuck and Joy. He didn’t really attack them just to attack. Ron was moving the cats to another pen because they were building a new kennel. Jupiter wouldn’t move, so he told Joy to get Jupiter’s “Dad”. Chuck tripped over the chain link fence to build they kennel and Jupiter grabbed him by the throat. Then he just stopped like oh it’s you Dad. Ron took Jupiter to visit Joy because she was in a depression and wouldn’t eat or anything because Chuck died. She started shaking when they got in there and he grabbed her by the throat. He attacked her and again went like oh it’s you Mom. When he killed Joy, Ron was there saying like you really are inbred.

12 year old cat is just about 25lbs. She’s always been a fat cat, but she refuses to diet. What should I do besides try to limit her feeding? Will it do any good at this point in her life?

What is the best way to separate my two cats from each other?

clint2121 asked:

We have a cat that is about a year old and just got a kitten that is 12-13 weeks old. The issue we are having is that the kitten seems to have attached itself to our other cat. Everywhere our older cat goes, the kitten is right on his heels. We have to hold are kitten just for the older cat to use the restroom. When we separate the two cats, the kitten just whines and whines and whines. If she can’t see the older cat she continues to whine. Please help with suggestions and ideas. Will this behavior soon stop? We are worried that the kitten will get into a bad habit and not be independent.
