Cat pees everywhere?

I have a male (neutered), 5+ year old Bengal cat. He just started at the end of 2007 ****** everywhere! On coats, in boxes, on papers or files from file cabinets, on marble floors, even right next to his kitty litter box! I have an older cat and a younger cat also in the house-both neutered males whose get along fine with the Bengal. The kitty litter boxes are cleaned at least once every 2 days, have never been moved or changed (no new boxes), and there are at least 1.5 for each cat. In the time I’ve owned him (almost all of his life), he’s had UTI at least 3 times- but the vet says now he doesn’t have it. He has gone right in front of my relatives, but never in front of me or in my room. I’ve tried the spray bottle method, but it doesn’t work. Is there any way to stop my cat? (I’ve also tried scaring him away from the places he’s already peed in (he’s scared of everything) but it doesn’t work.)
Yes, he has been declawed since I got him neutered, which was the moment he was old enough to have it done. All three of my cats have been declawed and neutered and can roam around the house as they please. He has never shown interest in the outdoors, and he runs when I open the front door. Almost anything will scare him. He defiantly is a one person cat, but every relative that comes to my house is a relative he has known since I first got him. He is a cat that would rather run than go check things out; unless I’m there. I know he’s allergic to sea food, so he’s on a strict diet that hasn’t been changed. I’m pretty sure he’s not jealous; out of the three he probably gets the most attention. All my cats find water fascinating- until they have to touch it. He hates water the most and yowls like he’s dying during a bath. Would bathing him after I know he’s gone where he’s not supposed to stop his ******?

  1. did you get him declawed? some cats refuse to go in the litter box after they get declawed because it hurts their paws. or he could just be trying to tell you he is mad at something.

  2. Get a second opinion from another vet, clean the boxes out once a day, and seek an animal behavioral specialist. Buy some books at the bookstore on cats and their behaviors, so you can possibly kill the root of the problem. Good luck.

  3. You say he is scared of eveything and pees in front of your relatives but not you, could it be that he is nervous?

  4. i think this cat is very lucky to have a good human like you. I also think that he may have another UTI. Would you consider getting him his own box say in a closet that you can leave open enough for him to use?

  5. The next step would probably be to have an xray to rule out bladder stones. If this checks out then the ********* is probably behavioral and your vet (or another vet, you may want to get a second opinion) should be able to help you

  6. My nine year old cat does the same exact thing! You say that he never goes in front of you? If he goes in front of (also when they are at your house or have recently been there) relatives and friends that means he is mad. He must smell a scent on them that makes him quite unhappy. My cat is like that as well. Also, do you have outdoor cats? Does your cat love to sit in a window? If so, your male may be seeing the freedom of the other cats and the outdoors. Most cats and kittens would much rather be free to roam outside, even though we know that it isn’t safe for them. Since I have gone through this with my cat, Montana, I am pretty sure that he is just mad. There is nothing you can really do to stop this… I’d try to give him more attention, freedom, and don’t pin him up for a while (if you do). Give him as much house roaming time as possible and try to keep him happy. :) Good Luck!

  7. You need to have more than one litter box and clean them at least once a day. I would at least have two if you have three cats. Also make sure that there is no smell left where he has been *********. Good Luck.

  8. I’m wondering if you had him declawed. This is typical behavior of a declawed cat.

  9. I would look for a specialty clinic. In my town we have the Cat Clinic and that’s all they serve is felines. I would get a second opinion there since nothing in his environment has changed. The cats and people, the house everything is all the same, right?
Take him to the specialist. Maybe it is a prostate thing… who knows? They would.
